Confucius Museum in Qufu was opened on 9/6/2019.  This fascinating place houses a private collection of family inheritance of about 700k pieces, dating back to Zhou Dynasty (1046BC-256BC) including paintings, potteries, bronze bell music instruments, gowns, etc…  .  The museum building architecture is of Han Dynasty style (202 BC-195AD).  The total exhibit size is 55K square meters.

Many experts agree that the Silk Road started from Zibo – where silk started centuries ago. We have yet to confirm, but the Silk Road is the predecessor to the “One Belt, One Road”. 

Recent exhibits of the Silk Road currency unearthed along the route gives us a chance to see where the road was winding to. You will find the earliest Chinese currency, a shell, as well as other coins and artifacts from the 3rd century.

Highlight: Family collections including 300k family correspondences, 40K rare books from Song Dynasty (960-1279AD), 8000 family gowns from Qing Dynasty (1636-1912) and a large collection of music instrument for the ritual ceremonies.
