Kunyu National Forest and Taixu Temple
Located in Muping District of Yantai with soaring ridges and peaks, and aged trees shooting in the sky. Home to a variety of trees including cherry, apple and apricot, as well as streams and waterfalls, it is a regional tourist destination complete with hiking trails, picnic areas, and souvenir shops. The highest peak, Taibo, stands at 923 m high; and the biggest waterfall, Nine Dragons Pond Waterfall, looks silky from a distance. Zhifu Island
Located in northern Zhifu (Chefoo) District, the island is a typical land-tied island. It features unique abrasion cliffs and reefs. Yangzhu (the master sun) Temple, the landmark building on the island, was originally constructed as early as 7th Century BCE. The first emperor, Emperor Qin, visited here three times during his reign some 2,300 years ago to worship heaven and the sun. The prime minister, Li Si wrote two inscriptions eulogizing the Emperor.

Mt. Cattle (“Niu”) Temple Fair
This temple fair is Zibo’s largest temple fair after the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year). People often pray for good harvest during the festival. “Cuju”, the early form of soccer is played during the fair. Cuju is certified by FIFA (The Fédération Internationale de Football Association) as the soccer heritage. Be sure to visit the soccer museum first to get an idea on the history of the Cuju sport.

Chen Village Excavation Site
At this excavated site from the Zhou Dynasty (1046BC-771BC), visitors are given the chance into a real and closer look! You’ll find the burial site with a collection of bones, bronzeware & jade. There is also a nine-layer worshipping altar that was previously used to pray to heaven. We feel this is the place where the Temple of the Heaven of Beijing drew its inspiration.
