Liaocheng Cultural Heritage
The festivity continues even if people have returned to work.
With the Chinese New Year holidays that were celebrated over the past few weeks, you can find that elements of traditional Chinese folklore and cultures can be seen everywhere. Paper-cutting, clay sculpting, New Year woodblock printing, and varieties of hand-made treats are just some of the few. These wonderful cultural heritage from Liaocheng are some of the many wisdom and cultures that have been passed on for generations throughout China’s history for thousands of years.
“In Chinese, there is a saying that intangible cultural heritage (ICH) is the homeland of our spirit. With ICH, we know where our home is.” —Yang Zhi, director, International Training Center, UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in Asia.
