Nishan Sacred Land Attraction Park
Confucius once said: “If you do not learn etiquette, you will have nothing to stand upon”.
Traditional Chinese etiquette, such as Filial Piety (respect towards elders) makes up the core philosophy of how the Chinese nation stands in the world. In the Nishan Holy Land, located in Confucius’ hometown of Qufu, you can experience the ritualistic “Civilized Lifestyle”.
According to legend, Confucius was born about 30 km southeast of Qufu, in a cave on Nishan (mountain). As a modern way to honor Confucius, the Nishan Sacred Land Attraction Park opened on 28 September – Confucius’ birthday – in 2018. The centerpiece is the world’s largest Confucius statue, made of brass and standing impressively tall at 72 m.
A splendid building here is used for educational exhibits and visits. There is a striking level of detail in the design, incorporating and celebrating Confucian values. It is best appreciated with a tour guide, and there is much to glean – about both ancient Chinese wisdom and how it is emphasized in today’s society. The second phase will be the building of a hotel and restaurants, onsite.
Nishan tourism resources are wealthy. The territory is beautiful, and the local people have a strong humanity atmosphere. It is known as “One Mountain (Nishan), Yishui (Nishan Reservoir), and a Saint (Confucius). The ancient Chinese thinker, politician and educator Confucius was born here.
