Silk Market Street

Totaling 230 meters, the Silk Market Street has been used as a professional marketplace for silk trading for more than 400 years, lending to its status as a symbol of Zhoucun’s silk trading prosperity.

Back in the day, there were more than a dozen silk shops here. Customers from provinces such as Henan, Shanxi, Hebei, and even from countries like Russia and Japan gathered here to buy, sell, and trade silk products. It was one of the most prosperous marketplaces for silk trading in Shandong during the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1912 A.D.).
