Those who do not know Sulu’s tomb in Dezhou may think that it is the tomb of a king from a specific dynasty. But in fact, it is the burial place of the king of the ancient Sulu Kingdom, the Eastern King.
During the Ming Dynasty, the King of the East came to visit. On his way back, he died of illness and was buried in Dezhou, Shandong Province. Later the princess and the second and third princes also stayed in Dezhou until they died.
In 1908, the ambassador of the Philippines came to pay his respects to the Sulu King and met with heirs. A documentary, by the name, the King of Sulu and the Emperor of China, was commissioned.
