Tsingtao Beer Museum
Established by the Germans in 1903 as the first of its kind and the only beer museum in China, the Tsingtao Beer Museum was built on the old Tsingtao Brewery Company site. The museum is housed in an accidental two-story Gothic architecture built by the Germans, exhibiting historic photographs, old brewing equipment and samples of Qingdao beer from the different eras. Finish your tour here as you walk through the Tsingtao Beer-making process, and you might just get to taste sample brews at the end. A ‘Drunk Room’ with slanted walls and tilted flooring will get you “drunk” in simulating the feeling of getting drunk is one you should not miss. For those wanting more to sip after the tour, Qingdao’s Beer Street is just coincidentally and conveniently outside the museum.
