Yellow River Memorial Tower
Spring creeps into Binzhou quietly. A new landmark, the Yellow River Memorial Tower is scheduled to open by the end of April.
At 13-stories, 74.8 meters high, this is the highest observation tower overlooking China’s mother river. It is also an architectural marvel with 9 (China’s lucky number) attributes: 9 floors as seen from the exterior and 9 cornice symbolizing 99 turns of the river pouring over 9 provinces of China and bypassing 9 metropolitans in Shandong.
The tower is a museum documenting the lifestyle of local residents along both banks of the Yellow River.
